The Grade 2 rapids local to Mangaweka are a veritable playground for the Whitewater Kayak. No experience is necessary on our Papa Gorge Whitewater Kayak trip and our courses are the ideal introduction to the sport of River Kayaking.
Papa Gorge Whitewater Kayak
No experience is necessary to experience the fun and enjoyment of our one hour kayaking adventure. We meet you at Awastone Riverside Cafe, where your guides provide you with quality gear and instruction before taking you out to tackle the numerous rapids, made easy on our specialist whitewater sit on top kayaks.
Kids? If your kids have an adventurous streak then they will love the challenge of Whitewater Kayaking. Minimum age is 10 years.
Meeting times: 10am, 12pm and 2pm.
Included: Morning or afternoon tea at our Awastone Riverside Cafe, transport from the river back to Awastone, all kayaking equipent for your safety and comfort and of course our friendly guides to take you through your journey.

Note: Kayaking trips are slightly more flow dependant than rafting trips. It is very rare for conditions to be unsuitable in the summer and autumn, Spring however is a different story. If the river is not suited to kayaking we offer you the chance of changing to rafts or cancel with a full refund.

Two Day Whitewater Kayak Course
