In Mangaweka we provide 2 beautiful options of campgrounds beside the river but for a
remotest parts of the beautiful Rangitikei River.

We offer two separate campgrounds
During these times of Level 2
The Mangaweka Campground will have the
toilets and showers open with daily cleaning.
You will need to be responsible for your own
hand cleaners/sanitisers, so please be prepared. At Awastone, cleaning items will be provided at the toilet/shower block. Please remember to keep 2mtr distance from others and online transfer are available for payment.
Awastone - Quality Riverside Camping
Quiet and secluded, this small campground has all the facilities to make your stay a joy. Wifi, well appointed bathrooms, kitchen, laundry and beautiful riverfront powered sites. During the summer our on site licensed cafe serves drinks and meals and is the base for our many river activities

Mangaweka Campground - Budget Riverside Camping
Mangaweka Campground provides budget camping options in a open plan riverside setting. The campground is set out over three levels, the top level has powered sites available and the second and third level are non powered only. There are no lines, no numbers allocating campsites.
The nature of these camping grounds means that booking a site is not available. First in first served! There is almost always space for non powered camping, however, on occasion powered sites can be taken up. If you require a guaranteed Powered Site then Book at Awastone.
Basic ablutions are available, flush toilets and pay showers. The "Cookhouse" is a small shelter that has a bench and sink for your use, no stoves, ovens or fridges. Water is town supply drinking water.

Family Stay & Play
Combine a night at our beautiful Awastone Campervan park with the Papa Gorge Family Whitewater Rafting trip for an experience both you and the kids will remember forever. Numerous rapids, beautiful swimming pools, fossil rock and fun guides, combined with our riverside cafe meeting point to provide you with a safe and fun activity with true value for money.
Meeting times: The raft trip departs at 10am, the day you wake up at Awastone. We can change this to the afternoon trip upon arrival if you wish
Included: One nights powered campervan parking at Awastone and a 10am Family Fun rafting trip. Includes morning tea at our Awastone Riverside Cafe, transport from the river back to Awastone, all rafting equipment for your safety and comfort and of course our friendly guides to take you through your journey.
