May 14, 2020

I can feel the excitement for all New Zealanders. Finally able to get out to explore their backyard; creating a new normal. Welcome to level 2 New Zealand, Mangaweka is a great place to start your exploration.

Mangaweka is situated between Manawatu, Whanganui and Ruapehu, it is a fantastic location with stunning scenery. It offers 2 campgrounds, with cabins, to suit your service requirements and budget with fantastic reviews. Awastone provides a full service camping area on the north/west end of the historical Mangaweka Bridge. It is also the office for the Mangaweka Campground, the budget option located on the south/east end of the bridge, marking both camps along side the Rangitikei River with a relaxed environment. During these times of Level 2 the Mangaweka Campground will have the toilets and showers open with daily cleaning. You will need to be responsible for your own hand cleaners/sanitisers, so please be prepared. At Awastone, cleaning items will be provided at the toilet/shower block. Payments can be made by online transfer or eftpos.

Mangaweka is also great for family fun river adventures. Awastone hosts a 1hr river trip on raft or kayak, which is perfect for families with children as young as 3 years old. Afterward the river adventure, hop into the river view hot tub, which is included in the price.

In Mangaweka there are plenty of scenic walks and it is situated along the national cycle way. If you prefer golf, Rangatira is only 5 minutes away. It's 18 holes built on 3 levels and the only course in New Zealand with an electric Cable Car. So make Mangaweka a stop on your exploration of North Island or a destination for your weekend getaway. Contact Awastone now for more details or to make a booking.
