Just off the road the river winds its way past the town in a deep gorge of Mangaweka Mudstone (Papa). The gorge is home to the Mangaweka Camping Ground and Awatoka Landing, our exclusive accommodations, campervan sites, catering venue and start/finish point for many of our river adventures.
