Half way between Taupo and Wellington, this beautiful riverside camping ground and motorcamp is one of a kind!

Mangaweka Camping Grounds is based in Mangaweka, New Zealand and is quickly accessible, just 1km off State Hwy 1. It is set along the Rangitikei River and has easy options for camping with or with out power. Privately operated, Paul & Tricia take extra care of this special place without trying to change its unique character.

There are many choices of land activities from an light stroll around the grounds or a choice of reserves to explore. Its a perfect "base" spot when tramping through Ruahine Forest Park. The river activities inlcude rafting, kayaking, fishing and swimming. Heaps of the river activities in the area start or finish at the campground.

It is dog friendly, as long as your dog is friendly. They reserve the right to refuse campers if their pet is out of control. Please respect other campers when traveling with your pet.

Also on the grounds is an Events Area. It is ideal for Outdoor Education, family reunions and club gatherings. It supplies private camping, a full kitchen, a massive event field with wood fire BBQ area & fire pit. Contact us for more details!

Showers & Cookhouse: Bring $2 coins for the showers as they are coin operated. Cookhouse is for all with power outlets and a sink. New cooking elements are on the way!
